Under £50

Pure One

The Pure One is an entry level DAB radio which still manages to sound great and look stunning despite its bargain basement price tag. A prefect choice for a music fan who doesn't appreciate the wood clad DAB radio!

Keeping in touch with family and friends has never been easier with software packages like MSN and Yahoo messenger, but you'll need a good webcam and they don't come much better than the Quickcam Pro 500.

You'll be surprised just how poor the earphones are that ship with even moderately expensive MP3 players. Treat someone and buy them something a bit better from Soundwise.

Want to hear your MP3 player in car, but don't want to pay Ford / Audio / Toyota hundreds of pounds? Good news this little FM transmitter is now fully 100% UK legal and under £50 too!

£50 - £100

New iPod Shuffle Review

The brand new iPod shuffle is one of the gadgets to have for Christmas 2006, the revamped shuffle has a bit more class and style than the old white plastic model and it's cheaper too!

What do you get someone with an iPod? How about a speaker system to share your trapped MP3 tracks with the world, and there is no need to break the bank while doing so with the excellent Logic3 istation.

SatNav may seem like an expensive gift, but it needn't be with the UK's first GPS unit under £100 the Garmin i2. With all the features you'd expect this small unit works a treat and the only sign of its price is the monochrome screen.

£100 - £150

Talex GPS Speed Camera System

What price for your driving license? The Talex is a PS based warning system that uses up to date speed camera maps and a good loud warning to alert you to those hidden cash registers on poles!

Sandisk is a new name on the MP3 player scene and this offering is a real corker and is giving the iPod Nano a run for its money too. So if you want an MP3 that isn't unfashionably cool take a look at the E200.

£150 - £200

Possibly the best SatNav on the UK market. The TomTom One is now slimmer and sleeker but just as good at getting you from A-B, it can even plot a route to the in-laws house if you insist.

The 5th generation iPod is here and it does so much more than just play MP3 files. With video playback, Podcasts and the fact it's been on a diet no one is going to complain if you buy them the king of MP3 players.

inMotion IM7

The best iPod speaker system on sale today. Perhaps a strong statement but one we standby, sure it may cost as much as the iPod itself but speakers systems don't come better than this one from Altec Lansing.

£200 - £250

Of all the gadgets we have tested this is numero uno. The Squeezebox 3 from SlimDevices is the perfect companion for your MP3 collection providing sublime streaming media around the home without the need for wires.

A portable media player for MP3 player money. Plus the Archos 604 is very easy to use and fully compliant with Windows Media file making it easy to play all those ripped DVD's.

Topfield Freeview PVR Review

This years must have gadget stems from the Sky+ box. The Freeview PVR brings hard disk recording to the ordinary TV set and the Topfield PVR is one of the best examples available.

This months competition is for a Slanket, the revolutionary blanket with arms!

The Slanket is an uber cool new must have winter accessory. It is made of an extra fleecy material which is both amazingly soft and yet incredibly warm, the Slanket offers something extra for the Gadget fan too. Unlike most blankets the Slanket has inbuilt arms which means you can operate your favourite bit of tech while staying nice and warm under the cover.

As with all our competitions all subscribers to our monthly newsletter are automatically entered. Plus you can visit the home of the Slanket @ theslanket.com
