Nokia
have been producing a wide range of Bluetooth enabled phones for a while now
and the HDW2 is the flagship earpiece to go with them, this stylish boom
style set offers basic call acceptance and volume control and can word with
any enabled device on the headset or hands free profile.
The unit weighs
only 25 grams and has a standby of 70hrs with a maximum talk time of 3
hours, in fact its important not to forget that these devices need a regular
charge the same as your phone and the Nokia devices use the same changer
supplied with Nokia handsets.
The HDW2 can
be paired with up to 8 devices and will work over a distance of 10 meters as
it is fully compliant with the Bluetooth 1.1 specification.
Nokia's HDW2
performs well enough with a good loud voice reproduction and good noise
cancelling which helps your callers hear you when on the move in a noisy
car, its fairly comfortable for long periods of time but did start to
irritate the ear after a while.
The little red
answer / end button does its job but might be a little on the small side
especially if you are using this while driving kit takes a bit of getting
used to finding it and concentrating on the road ahead, also there have been
a number of reports of breaking ear clips you can get replacements and we
know this is a sub £50 headset but it should be a bit more robust.
This is a tidy
headset which will serve you well if treated with respect, it has only basic functions and a design
that may not please all users but at a price that makes it attractive.
