Mio 269 Review

A disturbing development but LP has started taking gadgets away on short hotel breaks! This time its the new navigation systems from Mio that covers Europe as well as the UK. What will his wife say!

The last in the set for us to test and this time a 8 week long term test shows all is not well with this TomTom unit, we give it a real workout and find out where it's great and where it's sadly lacking.

TomTom have announced an all new tom tom go range and the top end unit now has a 2.5gb hard drive and Bluetooth hands free capability.

Available now the first of the New TomTom navigation systems hits the UK and the latest version 5.0 software contains some new features, updated maps and nice tweaks.

Globalsat GV-101

A SatNav system with mixed messages can be a dangerous thing. We've been testing the Globalsat GV-101 this week and it's been a search for inner beauty. See what we found!

Deja Vu set in as we fired up the Mio 268 GPS Navigation system, but even though it uses the Destinator 4 software it has a style of it's own and a very competitive price.

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery and on the face of it Garmin are being very complimentary to their Dutch rivals, but there are a few key differences to be found.

A new entrant to the all in one Sat Nav market using some proven hardware and the latest version of their own software and Navteq maps.

Sure the Garmin 2610 is not the cheapest of SatNav systems but it is reliable and has the best set of European maps available and a nice CF card slot so you can have them all loaded at once. It even looks good on the dash of your Jaguar.

Somewhere between a PDA based system and an "all in one" unit the Garmin Ique 3600 is trying to find its identity, but deep down its a reliable router and not too bad looking.

LP found the Navman iCN510's routing quite tenacious if not a little rottweiler like but hey we found some new routes back from the office!  But the question you all want to know the answer to, is it better than the Tom Tom Go Unit?

Acer insist this is a GPS SatNav system first and PDA second which is just as well as its PDA credentials are shaky at best.

Navman finally give us what we've been waiting for a real alternative to Tom Tom, but will this PDA clone device better our current number 1 system?
