Jabra are well known for their
mobile product and have recently moved into the Bluetooth domain from fixed
cable headsets, the in ear gel pads are remarkably comfortable and come from
all those years of supplying the fixed earpiece market, the design is
similar to that of a television presenters earpiece, no need for round the
ear holders as the gel pad moulds to your ear.
This headset uses class 2 Bluetooth allowing it to be
paired with mobiles and work in a radius of ten meters, the unit itself is
good quality and it has a respectable 3hrs talk time and 96hrs standby not
exactly class leading and you may want to look elsewhere if you make a lot
of long calls. Weighing in at 23 grams its feels very comfortable for
extended periods of time in fact this is the area in which the BT200 does
best, sadly call quality can be variable, in our experience the volume isn't
quite enough in a noisy car and its prone to hissing when the battery starts
to drain.
The Jabra BT200 is supplied with a charger, holder, 3
earpieces (varying sizes) and also a belt clip, calls can be answered by
pushing the multifunction button (MFB) and volume can also be adjusted in
this way, the headset can be paired with up to 6 phones or other Bluetooth
devices.
This is a middle of the road product at a good price,
but its not class leading and those that rely on their ability to make calls
hands free all day may do better with alternative products.
