So you liked the V3 Razr's style? but your Bluetooth headset is one
of the many dull grey units with a tiny blue light, fear not
Motorola have come to rescue with this the Moto Razr H3. The prefect
companion to a Razr, the H3 is a Bluetooth headset styled as a chip
off the old block. We only hope that it has a little more
substance than it's V3 brother which is all show but perhaps a
little lacking in go!
The
specs sound good the Moto Razr H3 supports both Bluetooth 1.1 and
the new version 1.2, which means you get up to 30ft of clear audio
transmission due to the new standards improved frequency hopping and
immunity to interference. The headset is also nice and simple to
operate with a single call button to control answering and
initiating calls plus popping someone on hold and even to switch
between calls when hooked to your V3 Razr. Audio controls are
equally intuitive and the headset is good and loud too, depending on
the capability of your phone (assuming it's not a V3) you can also
control voice features like auto dialling.
When we say it's no lightweight we don't mean the 17 grams but
it's improved battery life boasting 8 hours talk time and 150 hours
on standby, recharging uses the same adaptor as your Moto phone so
no hassle there either. Don't forget that your Bluetooth headset can
also operate with a PC or PDA so that H3 can also be your main VOIP
headset if you use a Bluetooth adaptor and maybe the fine
SkypeHeadset software we reviewed a few months back.
But you didn't buy your V3 Razr for it's accomplished features,
like the vast majority of V3 owners you liked it's ultra thin looks
and undoubted style and that's why you'll love the new Razr H3.
Styled in a sleek looking black the H3 looks like something out of
star trek rather than the "I've got a leech stuck on my face" look
of most headsets. While connected and in use the strip at the
microphone end even glows that Bluetooth blue making the headset
look like nothing else we've seen.
Perhaps this is not the headset to use if you shun attention or
if the thought of being mistaken for a Trekkie fills you with dread,
the Motorola Razr H3 is an accomplished headset with buckets of
style. Due on sale in the UK shortly at around £50 it's not even
badly priced, so expect to be seeing one of them glowing through the
darkened windows of a BMW X5 near you soon.
