An MP3 player based on the phenomena that is the iPhone sounds like a good idea and indeed it is. A stunning user interface and great iPod functions. Just a shame that Apple think you should pay through the nose for its new baby.

This players not for sheep, would it surprise you to learn that there is another way? Sony's latest small MP3 player has a lot to do to persuade us that its a viable challenger to the iPod, does it pull it off?

Not a comeback for Mork and Mindy it's Apples new flash based MP3 player. Thinner than a supermodel on an eggs only diet, the new Nano makes it's UK debut and we got our mitts on one to see how it stacks up.

Is a 3gb disk a bit too simple for the educated tastes of gadget fans in the UK? especially at £130!

It's difficult to excited by a device that's average but when your last player was as bad as Philips HDD070 having Lordpercy say your latest attempt is average might be good news!

The M:Robe may have a snazzy name and snazzy darkened glass blood red display but it takes more than that to make a good MP3 player

The MPIO HD200 looks good with support of multiple codecs and a good form factor too but will the boy racer "WOW SRS" effects put us off. Maybe but lets see if we get past the manual first!.

There is always a market for bombproof technology but it normally looks daft like the Rover Streetwise! but the Monolith MP3 is both tough and attractive at the same time a kind of Lara Croft audio device.

The slayer of the Ipod Mini, Rio have another winner on their hands it's better all round and still very stylish to boot.

iRiver are late to the party with their mini MP3 player, but can the H10 make up for its delayed showing with support for photos and a colour screen?

Finally they have opened the door and the latest addition to the Sony Network Walkman range the NW-E99 will have native MP3 support as well as the proprietary  ATRAC3Plus format. But what else has the 1gb player got?

Some might say its madness to take Apple on but that's just what Creative have done with the Zen Micro which is firmly pitched against the Ipod Mini and you might just be surprised at the result.

It seems that MP3 players have been on the Atkins diet over the summer, the latest one to break out of rehab is the Aiwa HZWS2000.

Pray silence for the Apple Ipod Mini. Its been a while getting here but the minuscule miracle is born, Apples Ipod Mini is possibly better than its bigger brother and on sale now!
