Nokia AD-5B

You want a Bluetooth headset but you phone doesn't support it what are your options, buy a new phone, try and persuade work to upgrade your phone, unlikely but the Nokia AD-5B with its Pop port technology will enable a Nokia mobile to enjoy Bluetooth by simply plugging it in.

The AD-5B measures 31x32x13mm and weighs just 8 grams, it gets its power from the mobile its plugged to so no need for a battery which makes for a small compact and lightweight unit, it supports the headset 1.1 profile and using the standard Bluetooth class 3 connectivity can reach up to 10 meters which is plenty for this application. Battery drain is not really a major issue but obviously having your AD-5B plugged in will use an extra bit of juice how much depends on how long your BT headset is in use.

The unit does not detract too much from the phone in terms of style but you will probably only connect it when in the car or only when using your BT headset is essential, it has just one button to turn Bluetooth on and a single LED, so little need for the instruction manual. It can be paired with Just 2 Bluetooth devices where as your headset should be able to cope with at least 8 and Nokia guarantee compatibility with the full range of Nokia BT headsets however it should word with most available that have headset profile.
