The gadgets in our "gadgets shop" are all good at what they do but they are sometimes an extravagance and that's what makes them ideal gifts, things you can't justify for yourself but would love to get and so it is with the Nokia HS-1C Camera Headset.

The VGA resolution camera can be connected to the pop port on Nokia handsets to give the older or non equipped phones a camera, measuring just 72.7 x 28.4 x 18.4 mm and weighing only 60 grams it sits neatly in your pocket. The buttons on the back control brightness and also the quality at which you want to capture images, the trigger button then takes the shot.

Of course you only have to plug in the headset and you have a wired hands free unit too, images are stored on your handset and they can quickly be added to with text to make them into an MMS message.

The image reproduction of the Nokia HS-1C is acceptable but you'll need good lighting conditions as its low light performance is not as good as many camera phones on the market. This is a gadget pure and simple, you wouldn't buy it over a good camera phone and it certainly isn't a digital camera of hands free kit in its own right but these functions together make it an unusual and fun gadget.
