If
you have a display of family photos in your home that’s starting to
look a bit familiar, or you’re looking for a gift that someone won’t
realise how much they love until they get it, take a look at the
Samsung SPF-72H Digital Photo Frame. So many of
the photos we take on our digital cameras end up hidden away on a
hard drive, never to be seen again by the human eye. The digital
photo frame creates a truly eye catching display that cycles through
your favourite photos. Place on a desk at work to remind you why
you’re still there at 6:30, or position along side your ornaments in
a display cabinet – you’ll catch your father staring at it during a
family re-run of Eastenders.
What a fantastic way to share your treasured
memories with your family and friends, whilst displaying your
fondness for modern technology and gadgetry.
The Samsung SPF-72H Digital Photo Frame has a 7
inch, high definition TFT LCD screen, with 800 x 480 resolution and
200cd/m² brightness. Even with modern digital printing, the quality
of the images far supersedes the average dusty photograph. The
screen makes the images come alive, and stand out, even in the dark,
and the size ensures that the item isn’t overbearing. Also, of
course, you can change the images being displayed as often as you
please, so you never get tired of looking at the same old pictures.
The Digital Photo Frame accepts SD / MMC, MS
and XD memory cards straight from your digital camera, which slot
into a small opening in the base. You can also upload from your
camera, PC, or phone using an USB cable. The frame also has its own
memory allowing you to upload pictures and save them in files within
the frame, so you can easily switch between display sets. All JPEG
format images and images under 8000 x 8000 resolutions are accepted.
The in-built menu
gives you lots of options to customise your display. Once you get
the hang of using the correct buttons – ‘MENU’ opens and closes the
menu, the arrow buttons allow you to adjust things within the menu,
‘ENTER’ activates a highlighted menu item, ‘BACK’ takes you back to
where you were before you pressed the last button, this may sound
straight forward, but believe me, its easy to hit the wrong button,
or to hit all of them and wonder why nothing is happening, you can
choose how your images will appear and add effects. Have the photo’s
fade into existence, come in from the side, ‘wink out’ or shutter
before the next picture appears, come in as bricks that build into a
picture, expand from a tiny dot, and appear as bars sliding across
your screen. You can also set the speed in which the images
exchange, whether the whole display repeats more than once, and you
can set it to randomly select which picture will appear when. I’d
say that’s plenty of gadgetry to fiddle with and keep you occupied
for long enough to satisfy that urge to play.
In short, the
Samsung SPF-72H Digital Photo Frame is a fantastic gift and a great
accessory for your desk. Operation is fairly straightforward, whilst
being complicated enough to engage you for a few minutes. The bother
of transferring your images from your hard drive or camera to the
frame, which is really quite easy, is well worth the few moments it
takes. You’ll soon be seeing your life flash by in front of your
eyes.
