In these days of MP3 players and all singing and dancing DAB
radios its easy to overlook simple yet effective technology, like
the Sony SRF M95 FM radio, sure its only good old FM but it can
deliver a lot of entertainment for your investment. The Sony SRF
M95 FM Radio wins friends due mainly to its compact size measuring
just 39 x 83 x 20.4mm and weighing only 57 grams the SRF M95 fits
easily into a shirt pocket without the user feeling its there, it is
much lighter than even the smallest mobile phones. As such it lends
itself perfectly to the daily commute or as a partner for workouts
or jogging. Controlling the SRF M95 is not as bad as you may think
despite its fingertip controls, Sony have taken the jog dial from
other products in its range and added them to the side of the FM
radio, this allows for scanning of the FM and MW frequency range and
also selection of the 20 preset stations. In fact when combined with
the LCD screen you can access almost any feature from here but you
may need the help of the manual as many features require the use of
Multi function buttons. Sound quality is excellent, sure its not
DAB but Sony have made a tenacious FM radio that will hold onto
signal long after lesser radios have given up, the bass reproduction
is impressive with good weight even with the standard headphones and
without the use of the mega bass system. The single AAA battery
will drive the SRF M85 for a minimum of 18hours and depending on use
could last over 40 hours, that's a lot of entertainment for just
£48.
